Just the Facts

We use a lot of acronyms and ministry references in our podcast. Here we have all of those facts in one place.

  • Last Days Ministries (LDM) - Non-profit religious organization founded by Keith Green in 1977; began in Southern California, relocated to Garden Valley, East Texas in 1979. Officially closed the East Texas campus in 1995.  The property was sold to another ministry, Teen Mania, in 1997.

  • The Last Days Newsletter – a full-color publication mailed out worldwide every 6-8 weeks. The mailing list reached 450,000+ households with reprints of key articles (tracts) shipped out in bulk quantities by the 100’s of thousands.

  • Intensive Christian Training School (ICT) – 10-week training school and recruiting program on-site at LDM – modeled after Youth With A Mission’s  training schools, utilizing the same teachers and teachings.  

  • Youth With A Mission (YWAM) - Non-profit religious organization founded by Loren Cunningham in 1960 with bases all over the world, including a main US campus in the Garden Valley-Lindale area of East Texas. YWAM continues today with pay-to-train short-term missionary programs through their Discipleship Training Schools (DTS), Leadership Training Schools (LTS), and through a major non-accredited university campus in Kona, Hawaii called University of the Nations.

  • Teen Mania International – Non-profit Evangelical Christian organization founded in 1986 by Ron Luce. Teen Mania purchased the former Last Days Ministries property in Garden Valley, TX in 1997.  In 2014, Teen Mania defaulted on the mortgage and eventually closed down all operations, filing for bankruptcy in 2015.

  • Keith Green (1953 - 1982) - Best-selling Christian musician, preacher, author, founder of LDM; killed in private plane crash in 1982.

  • Melody Green (1946 -   ) - Widow of Keith Green, author of book "No Compromise."  Married Andrew Seivright in 1999, later divorced.  Continues to run LDM as an online ministry / business.

  • Wayne & Kathleen Dillard - Leadership couple who met and married (1980) at LDM; Wayne was an elder with Keith and Martin; worked with Melody through 1991; Wayne died in 2010. Kathleen continues as president and founder of Take it to the King Ministries, a non-profit Christian organization.

  • Martin & Sharon Bennett - Leadership couple who met and married (1981) at LDM; Martin was an elder with Keith and Wayne;  Martin & Sharon were kicked out of LDM in early 1987 by Melody and YWAM council; divorced in 2005. Sharon (now Madere) is co-host of this podcast.

  • Lindsay & Tracey Reed - Couple who met and married (1986) at LDM; became Directors of ICT;  left LDM in 1987; divorced in 2006. Tracey (now Phalen) is co-host of this podcast
